The Shelf Aware Organizing Philosophy

No one should feel like existing in their home is work. Your space should work for you! Practicing Shelf Awareness means aligning your environment with your everyday activities. At Shelf Aware Organizing, we help you identify how you use your space now, and how you would like to use your space ideally. Then we use that knowledge to enhance your home and compliment your goals.

Notice we’re not called “Shelf Conscious Organizing.” This is because becoming Shelf Aware is a non-judgmental process. This process involves objectively analyzing your space, while subjectively individualizing it for your needs. Shelf Aware Organizing is a compassionate and supportive professional organizing resource!

Shelf Aware Organizing is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We prioritize promoting acceptance and normalizing conversations around mental health and accessibility. We individualize each project to celebrate the home and small business environments of clients from all backgrounds, races, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. Shelf Aware Organizing is women owned and operated.

Meet your Organizer

Hi, I’m Stephanie from Shelf Aware Organizing! I come from a long line of collectors, crafters, and packrats alike. Over time, I transitioned from an indiscriminate hobbyist, to a sentimental but intentional curator of plants, crafts, and books.

My relationship to my own space is defined by thoughtful decision making about what enters my home, and by systems that contribute to a calm environment. I believe that the key to an organized space is the functionality to enjoy your favorite pastimes and people. I also believe there is a direct relationship between how you interact with your environment, and your mental well-being and quality of life.

When I’m not organizing, you can find me playing games with my family, on walks with my son and our mom and baby friends, or cozied up with tea, a sweet treat, and a library book. My guilty pleasure is doom-scrolling Facebook Marketplace.
